I’m writing today to share some big news from Boutique Fitness… The biggest news, actually.
In the next couple of months, Angela will be taking over my half of the company and will be the sole owner of Boutique Fitness, Inc.
There’s so much to unpack here. I must start by saying that this is a very positive thing. Angela and I started this business in 2011. We have been through so much together and I couldn’t imagine this journey with any other person. If you know Angela, you know that she can really light up a room. She is incredibly devoted to her team and her clients and I am forever grateful for her partnership and her commitment to stay the course and continue to foster this incredible community at Boutique Fitness.
Boutique has brought me the most amazing experiences, people, love, and lessons. It is because of the time I’ve spent with Boutique Fitness, learning, building, and nurturing, that I am able to move on to new ventures.
You may not know that I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the Massachusetts College of Art. Growing up, making art was everything to me. When I graduated college and moved to New Bedford, my art studio was above No Problemo. It was during this time that I started to suffer overwhelming joint inflammation. I was only 24 and was told that I had arthritis and needed to be medicated indefinitely.
I didn’t accept this diagnosis and decided to hire a personal trainer instead. She basically nursed me back to health and I became obsessed with the process. 2025 marks 20 years that I’ve been a personal trainer and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
One of the most common questions I get when people find out that I was in the arts is if I’m still making art. No, I haven’t been. I still doodle and sew and learned how to embroider, but I haven’t really made art in a very long time. I would always follow up my response by saying that I know art will ‘find its way back into my life’… and it now has.
I have a wonderful opportunity to combine my love of the arts with my love of the Azores. It’s something I’ve been working on for a little while, but in December I was given a chance to really sink my teeth in when I was accepted into the Creative Business Incubator at MassArt for the Spring semester, 2025.
All this to say thank you.
Thank you for all your support, love, friendships, and of course, sweaty fun! It has been an honor to serve our amazing clients, to share the helm of such an incredible company with Angela, and to work alongside our coaches, who are truly some of the most tremendous people I know. It’s this community that gave me everything I need to take the next big step.
With so much love in my heart, Thank you.
