Raquel has always had a love of sports and fitness since a very young age. She began playing soccer and basketball in grade school and continued with recreational leagues through high school. There, she played varsity soccer, track&field, and lacrosse, and became captain of all 3 teams. She loved pushing herself and her team towards their goals of winning games and playing as one. “It was an amazing feeling to see your team band together and thrive towards a certain goal, and know that you will always be apart of that team for life!” In college Raquel kept active by playing club lacrosse at Umass Lowell and joining the school gym/workout classes. Her diet drastically changed with her new busy schedule and the weight started to slowly add on the scale.
After college, Raquel worked as a Exercise Physiologist/Rehab Aide at a Physical Therapy clinic for a couple years. She helped people relieve pain, stretch and strengthen muscles, functional training, and get back to activities of daily living. She noticed the weight still kept slowly creeping up and couldn’t find time to go to the gym with her long hours. “I realized I could no longer outrun a bad diet. I started with small consistent changes, which my body thanked me for. My workouts felt better, I felt more confident and knew that I was going to reach my goal, and I surpassed it!”
The opportunity came up at Boutique Fitness to become a trainer and she knew she could not pass it up. Raquel heard of amazing things from Boutique from their great energy and awesome workouts to specialized small classes and private training. “I was beyond thrilled to find out I got the position! I can’t wait to motivate people towards their goals and see their confidence rise with each workout. The small groups are perfect so you can make sure everyone is giving and getting the most out of each workout”
