‘Be your own kind of beautiful’. This came from a mass produced wall decoration I found at Marshalls a couple of years ago. It’s hanging in one of the bathrooms at Boutique Fitness in NB. It’s too bad there aren’t more mass produced messages like this one.
It’s a constant game of comparison which ultimately consumes us with frustration and disappointment. The goal should never be to be thin, or popular, or fit. The goal, instead, should be to be FREE.
Free from self loathing, free from criticism, free from nitpicking, free from dysmorphia, free from comparison…
We need to be free to feel good, free to be happy, free to love and accept ourselves for who we are. Free to be our own kind of beautiful.
